John Byrne Cooke is a writer and photographer and member of The Charles River Valley Boys bluegrass and old-time band, which played regularly at the Club 47 in the 1960s and appeared as part of Passim's 50th Anniversary "Hootenanny" in January 2008. (The CRVB are booked to play at Passim on the first weekend of August 2008.)
Cooke's photographs of 1960s musicians have been exhibited internationally and they have appeared in many books and television programs. His latest book is Reporting the War: Freedom of the Press from the American Revolution to the War on Terrorism (2007).

Rowland Scherman
Rowland Scherman served as the first photographer for the Peace Corps in 1961, and his work has been displayed on the covers and in the pages of Life, Time, Newsweek, Paris Match, Playboy, and National Geographic. In 1968, he won a Grammy for the cover of Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, and published a photo book called Elvis is Everywhere in 1991. Now 60, he lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
