Q: Why should I become a member of the Passim Folk Music and Cultural Center?
A: There are many different reasons to support Passim. Some of our members enjoy the perks that come with membership (see membership form) and others simply want to show their support for the mission and work of Passim.

Q: Where does my membership dollar go?
A: We are a non-profit organization relying on public and private support. Membership dollars provide vital funds to operate our programs: Culture for Kids, the Passim School of Music, and Club Passim. Your support allows us to offer these programs to the community.

Q: Is my membership donation tax-deductible?
A: Yes. Passim is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization relying on private funds to operate. Contact Jim Ricciuti at 617-491-2382 for details, but memberships over $75 are tax-deductible and others may be eligible for deduction as well.

Q: Who else is a member?
A: Passim has anywhere from 600-800 members at one time.

Q: What are "members-only events"?
A: At least once a year, Passim hosts a members-only event that is an afternoon or evening of music, food, and fun for all of our members for no charge. This is our way of saying "thank you" to our members and introducing you to one another.

Q: Who qualifies for the "student/senior" membership?
A: All students with current student IDs and persons aged 60+ are eligible.

Q: How long is my membership valid?
A: Membership is valid for one year from the date you receive your membership card.

Q: How long do I have to wait for my membership card?
A: We send cards out once a week, with few exceptions. If you have not received your card in the mail in two weeks' time, please call and let us know. Note: when buying a membership online, you can print a temporary membership card to use until you receive your laminated card in the mail.

Q: How do I receive the parking discount?
A: By showing your membership card at the Charles Square Garage (located at the Charles Hotel, 1 Bennett Street), you will receive parking for a $7 flat rate anytime between the hours of 3:30PM and 7:00AM.

Q: Is there a limit on use of discounts for Club Passim or the School of Music?
A: No. Use your membership for as many parking passes, classes, workshops, and venue events as you'd like!

Q: Can I buy/renew a membership over the phone/website/mail?
A: Yes, yes, and yes. Call 617-491-2382, visit http://www.passimcenter.org/join, or mail your completed membership form to the Passim Folk Music and Cultural Center, 26 Church Street, Suite 300, Cambridge, MA 02138.

Q: How do I remember to renew my membership?
A: Passim will send you reminders that your membership is about to expire or has just expired. You can then renew your membership online or use the form that we send you in the mail.
