Registration Policy

All Passim School of Music classes have enrollment limits, and we are unable to make exceptions. Classes can fill up quickly, so we recommend registering early.

Tuition/Refund Policy

Payment for all workshops and courses must be made in full before the first class session. You may pay by check, credit card, or exact cash. Course payments are not pro-rated by the number of sessions attended by the students; thus, if you are only able to attend 5 of the 6 scheduled classes, you still must pay the entire course fee.

Class Refund: You may receive a full refund if you cancel your registration at least one week before the class begins. From that point until the class starts, you may receive a credit at the Passim School of Music.

Workshop Refund: If you cancel your workshop registration, you may receive a full refund up to one week before the workshop. From that point until 24 hours before the workshop, you may receive a credit at the Passim School of Music. Cancellations less than 24 hours before the workshop will not be eligible for a credit or refund.

Incorrect Class Level

If you decide that a class is the incorrect level for you, please email Sarah before the second week of the class. If a class has met two or more times, we are unable to offer a refund or credit. This policy exists in order to ensure that students are committed to courses, and to make sure that we have enough students to run a class once the session has started.

Cancellation Policy

The Passim School of Music reserves the right to cancel or postpone classes due to low enrollment. In most cases, we require at least four students to run a course.  We will notify you about any cancellations with proper notice.

If your class is canceled, then we will offer you a full refund, credit towards another class in the future, or the opportunity to transfer to a different class, space permitting.

Makeup Policy

Makeups will only be held for classes postponed by holidays, instructor’s request, or extreme weather. We do not offer makeup dates for student absences from classes nor do we pro-rate tuition.

Students in private lessons are entitled to one makeup lesson per term, provided that they notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance.

Inclement Weather Policy

If there is inclement weather on the night of your class, please check the Passim website or call 617.492.5300 for cancellation information. All classes will be held as scheduled unless the instructor is unable to be present. If your class is canceled, then we will notify you by phone and/or email by 3PM.
